Joy Eden

Admission Counselor

Hi there!

I’m Joy Eden and I’m originally from Joplin, Missouri. I found Milligan after graduating with a Bachelor’s of Christian Ministry from Ozark Christian College. I was blown away to find a school like Milligan that harmonizes Christian values and numerous high-value degrees. I immediately wanted to be a part of this body of Christ.

My husband and I live in Pardee Hall as Residence Directors and are loving re-living the dorm life even considering the shenanigans that may be going on come 2am. We are crazy about people and crazy about the Lord, so we hope you come join us in that endeavor.

I would be thrilled to help you along in the admissions process. Call or e-mail me for questions regarding scholarships, residence life, local places to drink coffee, admissions forms, degree programs, local comic book/vinyl stores, you name it, I’m glad to help!

Fitzroy Harris

Senior Athletic Recruitment Coordinator

Hi there potential Milliganite!

My name is Fitzroy Harris. I am from Montego Bay, Jamaica. I lived there most of my life until Milligan found me in 2010 and offered me an athletic scholarship. I am your Admissions Counselor who will make your college application as seamless as possible while we get you prepared for your life changing experience at Milligan.

I graduated from Milligan in May 2014 with a major in Business and a minor in Communications. I also ran track for four years. Those four years were the most transformational years in my life and the Milligan experience made it possible. You too can have the same, and even a better, Milligan experience.

If there are any questions you have about the college admissions process, please don’t hesitate to contact me by phone at 423.461.8329, or by email at FDHarris@milligan.edu. I assure you that your life changing experience awaits you.

Oscar Sarmiento

Admission Counselor

Hi, Everybody!

My name is Oscar Sarmiento and I will be your Admission Counselor! I am excited to hear that you are interested in Milligan and will be here to help you as you consider the next steps of your college journey.

I graduated from Milligan in 2015 with a degree in Biblical Studies with an emphasis in Youth Ministry and a minor in Sociology. I am originally from Colombia but spent most of my teenage years between Birmingham, Alabama, and Atlanta, Georgia.

I am blessed to have attended Milligan; it changed my life. While at Milligan, I was a Resident Assistant, a part of the Betty Goah Diversity Scholars Program, and a member of Milligan’s Camp Teams. One of the most fascinating things about Milligan is its vibrant community; it is what makes Milligan a truly special place that I have come to love—and I hope you will come to love Milligan as well.

Finding the right college is a difficult choice, but there is no need to worry since you have me and the rest of our staff working with you and for you. It was not too long ago I was in your shoes; so I know what you are going through and will assist you as much as I can. If you have any questions or need anything, feel free to contact me.

I am excited to get to know you and see how you can begin to leave your legacy here at Milligan College!

Jessica Sackett

Admission Counselor

Hello! I am Jessica and I will be your Admission Counselor. Applying to college is an exciting time in your life and filled with new beginnings. I am excited to be part of your journey!

I am originally from Clearwater, Florida, and graduated from Milligan in 2018 with my B.S. in Business Marketing. My time at Milligan was filled with lots of camping, coffee, and early 2000’s pop music. But more than that, it was filled with lasting friendships. The relationships that I formed at Milligan have helped me grow in my faith and have encouraged me to be brave in my life.

Going to school in such a beautiful growing place like Johnson City, that was far away from home, helped me step out of my comfort zone and into a space where I am more fully trusting in God.

I was the first one in my family to go to college and know that the college process can be confusing and overwhelming. I also know the time and effort are worth it when you are investing in your future. My job is to help, guide, and pray with you during this time of change to better equip you for the season to come.

Talk to you soon!
