Athletics are a huge part of the Milligan experience and a big source of pride. This past year, several teams and individuals qualified to national tournaments. Milligan athletes attained All-American honors in baseball, swimming, and track. In addition, our cycling team was runner-up at nationals and hurdler Rasheem Brown won two individual national titles in track.
Whether you’re an athlete or not, you are still part of the Herd. Milligan prides itself on community, and one of the ways this is fostered is through encouraging all students – athlete or otherwise – to support their fellow Buffaloes. Attending games is highly encouraged, but your role is so much more than a bleacher filler.
One way to get involved is to join the Herd. The Herd is a student-led club that keeps everyone up-to-date on game days, where to sit, and what special activities or attire will be involved. When you come to Milligan, within the first month there will be a Rush Day. There will be tables set up all along the Mary-Sword Commons. The Herd will have a table and present you with the chance to join! It is no commitment, only info on all the fun!
Whether it means sporting your favorite Milligan t-shirt or whipping out a clapper at a game, all is appreciated and creates an environment of fun! As an athlete, when your friends are there supporting you, it actually does make a tangible difference. The environment on campus is created by and for the students.
